BALIJA SANGAM JAYANAGAR MYSURU

ESTABLISHMENT OF BALIJA SANGAM - 14TH MARCH 1937

HISTORY: - 'The Balija Sangam' was commenced with a bunch old Senior Citizens with a number of Sixty-two active members. It was titled as 'The Balija Sangam' in the year 1943. Since there was no proper venue for the gathering of the team for the purpose of meeting, it was planned in various venues as they got an opprtunity to conduct the meeting to take it forward as per their plans and ideas. It went on in Aalama Choultry, Mysuru, Aarya Samaj, Mysuru, Srinivasa Temple, Kodanda Swamy Temple (Mandi Mohalla) Mysuru, Railway Worship, Bhakshi Narasapaji Choultry, Shree Janardan Naidu Residence etc.

Later the team applied a requisition application to City Imprudent Trust Board, Mysore(CITB). On 25th November 1944, Site No:52 was sanctioned in Jayanagar with the area of 198x160 as per the norms for the amount of Six Hundred and Sixty only(660/-). Documents were handed over to the team by the donors on 23rd February 1946.

Going forward, Building was erected which included - Administrative Office, Poor Boys Hostel, Library, Kitchen and a rest room, which paved the way to the needy students of below poverty level.

As per the Sangam Rules, proceedings of registration were document on 18th January 1972 [No-60/71-72]. Since, then the main agenda and propaganda began with maintanance of accounts and other necessory records of the hostel.
